Category Archives: Non-binary / Gender

Non-binary refers to people whose gender identity is not exclusively male/man or female/woman. It includes herms, androgynes, two-spirit, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, bigender, intergender, neutrois, and other people who do not identify within the male/female binary. We note that interex people have the same range of gender identities as non-intersex people, which means that some of us have nonbinary gender identities which match our bodies. This page is for issues/events concerning all non-binary people, because we recognize that people with non-binary gender identities share similar experiences and perspectives, whether intersex or not, and thus work in coalition with other non-binary communities.

Great video of Sara Keenan’s Historic Intersex Birth Certificate

Great video of Sara Keenan’s Historic Intersex Birth Certificate

We prefer the 1.7% statistic for #intersex people, as it includes all the different types, unlike the 1 in 2000 statistic used in the video, which only refers to intersex people with ambiguous genitalia, but we still love this video, and the historic event it commemorates. Tx Sara Kelly Keenan for demanding intersex recognition! #IntersexID… Continue Reading
